Katie Jo Bowes

Katie Jo Bowes (aka: Rainbows and Sunshine) of Alton passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023  at the age of 29 from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident.  She was born on December 6, 1993 to the late Anthony Stephen Melton and the late Rhonda Lynn Bowes Stone.

Katie loved God and life in general, but most of all her two precious children, Aiden and Rhonda.  She was a free spirited person and never met a stranger.

Katie Jo is survived by her children, Aiden Jared Davis and Rhonda Rain Bowes-Anderson; sisters, Erica Lynn Stone (Travis) of Alton;  twin sister, Stephany Jean Bowes of Cambridge, Md;  half brother, Christopher Melton of Florida; half sister, Sabrielle Melton of Florida; grandmother, Shelby Elliott of Alton; aunts, Lora Bowes (Michael) of South Boston and Deidre Elliott of Danville; uncle, Randy Elliott (Jason) of Powhatan; nephews, Jeremy Stauble and Christian Bowes; numerous cousins, great aunts & uncles and her special friend Mickey Anderson Jr of South Boston.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Richard Randolph Elliott; paternal grandmother, Karen Hopkins; and uncle, Richard Anthony Elliott.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from
6:00 PM  - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
