Margie Ambrose Conner

Mrs. Margie Ambrose Conner of 3212 Rogers Chapel Rd., Clover, VA died Monday, February 27, 2012 at the age of 86. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on April 28, 1925 to the late James E.V. Ambrose and the late Mary McCormick Ambrose and was married to the late John David Conner, Jr.. Mrs. Conner was a homemaker. She was a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church and of Woodman of the World, Hunting Creek. Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Medley and husband, James "Snapper" of Clover, VA; a son, J.D. Conner, III and wife, Janet of Halifax, VA; three sisters, Ruth Dunn of Saxe, VA, Gladys Smith of Scottsburg, VA, and Jessie Crews of Nathalie, VA; four granddaughters, Staci Spell, Brittney Conner, Michelle Godard, and Lori Baker; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, Ernest H. Ambrose, Wesley Ambrose, and John Ambrose, and three sisters, Christine Smith, Eva Saunders, and Louvinia Ambrose. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Hunting Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Aubrey W. Heath and Rev. Lee Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hunting Creek Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Gayle and James Medley, 3212 Rogers Chapel Rd., Clover, VA.
