Maria Kink Pool

Mrs. Maria Kink Pool of 718 Blue Ridge Ave., Bedford, VA died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the age of 83. She was born in Rosenhein, Germany on July 1, 1927 the daughter of the late Hermann Honicke and the late Wally Kink. Mrs. Pool was married to the late Lennie S. Pool. They met in Germany during WWII and were married in 1947. She lived in South Boston for 57 years and has lived in Bedford for the last 7 years. Survivors include four daughters, Roswitha "Tootsie" Jester and her husband, Larry of Roanoke, VA, Laure Toms and her husband, Donald of Bedford, VA, Susie Glass of Danville, VA, and Easter "Punkin" Edge of Lady Lake, FL; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; one daughter, Gloria Pool; one great granddaughter, Jackie Glass; and one brother, Ernest Honicke. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Friday morning from 9:30-11:00 AM prior to services.
