Adah Tunstall Blanks

Virgilina, VA - Adah Tunstall Blanks, widow of Hardy Roosevelt Blanks, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born August 2, 1927 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late William Buck Tunstall and the late Dora Robinson Tunstall. Mrs. Blanks was born and raised in the Butchers Creek community of Mecklenburg County. She graduated from Chase City High School and retired from South Boston Hospital, where she worked as a nurse for Dr. Watkins. She was a member of Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Blanks is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Red Long of Roxboro, NC; son, William Samuel Blanks of Virgilina, VA; sister, Barbara Snoddy of Texas; step grandchildren Samantha Finch, Ray Long and Whitney Long and 10 step great grandchildren. She is also survived by special lifelong friends, Norma Elliott and Nell Daniel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Ian Rigney and Joey Tucker officiating.Burial will follow in Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at all other times at the residence.
