Albert Roy “Buck” Powell, Jr., 51, husband of Wendy Daniel Powell, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital.“Buck” was born January 2, 1963 in Halifax County to the late Albert Roy, Sr. and Ruby Bowen Powell.He grew up in the Buffalo Junction community and farmed most of his life.Buck’s passion was hunting and listening to his dogs run.He was loved by many.Graveside funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday at Gravel Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Billy Coghill officiating.In addition to his wife, Buck is survived by his daughter, Ali Powell of Buffalo Junction, sisters, Patricia Bagbey of Buffalo Junction and Janet Painter of Roxboro, and brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Wanda Powell of Buffalo Junction.His nieces and nephews and special great nieces, Hailey and Mackenzie Duffer also survive him.In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his brother, James Benny Powell.The family will receive friends at all times at the residence.
