Albert Roy Powell, Sr

Mr. Albert Roy Powell, Sr., 67, died December 8, 2004 in South Boston. Born to the late James Harper and Mary Conner Powell, Albert was retired from J.P. Stevens; and was a resident of both Halifax and Mecklenburg Counties. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with Dr. David Pruett and Reverend Rudolph Jacobs officiating. Interment will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Powell is survived by daughters, Patricia Bagbey of Buffalo Junction and Janet Taylor of Roxboro, NC; and sons, Tony Powell and Buck Powell, both of Buffalo Junction. Also surviving are sisters, Elizabeth Shook of Keysville, Alice Jones of Red Oak, Shirley Seamster of Burkeville, and Louise Roberts of Clover; brothers; Howard Powell and Earl Powell, both of Nathalie; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, James Bennie Powell. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Friday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
