Alice Yancey Adcock

Mrs. Alice Yancey Adcock, 81, widow of Cameron Aaron Adcock, died Sunday, August 15, 2004 in South Boston. Born in Granville County to Robert and Alice Breedlove Yancey, Alice graduated from Stovall High School. A member of Clarksville Baptist Church, she worked at Roses Department Store and later at her husband's restaurant ''Wayside'', retiring in 1970. Funeral services will be 3PM Wednesday, August 18, 2004 in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with Reverend Wade Tucker officiating. Interment will be in the Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Adcock is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Gale and Steve Spain of LaCrosse, and Janice and Glenn Edwards of Buffalo Junction; brothers, Quincey Yancey of Grassy Creek, NC; John Yancey of Clinton, NC; and Robert Yancey of Rose Hill, NC. Grandchildren, Steve Randall Spain, Jr. and Christopher Ryan and Sharon Spain also survive her. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 2PM, one hour prior to the service.
