Alice Ratliff Crenshaw

SOUTH BOSTON, VA Mrs. Alice Ratliff Crenshaw of South Boston went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the age of 85.She was born in Halifax County on March 24, 1931 to the late Charles Stewart Ratliff, Sr. and Kate Kinsler Ratliff and was married to the late Dorsey Major Crenshaw. Alice was a member of Mountain Road Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.She loved reading and studying her Bible which was near and dear to her. Alice loved her church family, whether preparing food or working with young children and adults. Survivors include step children, Greg Crenshaw, Dottie Foushee, and Mark Crenshaw; brothers, Gene Durwood Ratliff(Joan) and Milton Mitchell Ratliff(Janice) and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Charles Ratliff, Jr, and Riley Lee Ratliff; sisters, Peggy Whitt and Virginia Anne Kelly. Funeral services for Mrs. Crenshaw will be Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Mountain Road Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Wetherington officiating.The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
