Alice Puryear Mccormick

HALIFAX Mrs. Alice Puryear McCormick, wife of Roy Lee McCormick, Sr. passed away at her home on Saturday, July 20, 2019.She was born in Mecklenburg County on October 14, 1930 to the late George Goodridge Puryear and the late Myrtle Pleasant Puryear. Alice was a graduate of Chase City High School, Class of 1948.She retired in bookkeeping from Central Fidelity that later became Wachovia and now Wells Fargo. She was a member of Dan River Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Roy, she is survived by daughters, Linda M. Baker and husband, Dabney of Halifax and Rhonda M. Inge and husband, Jimmy of Clover; son, Lee McCormick of Burlington, NC; sister, Myrtle P. Marshall and husband, Preston of Nelson; and grandchildren, Rob Williams, Stephen Williams, Nick Inge, Alison Inge, and Miranda Faith McCormick. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Dan River Baptist Church with Reverend Doug Gibson officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10:00-11:00 AM at Dan River Baptist Church.
