Allen Von Gravitt

Allen Von Gravitt of Virgilina, VA, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the age of 74. Born in Halifax County on November 11, 1948, he was the son of the late Thomas and Audrey Jones Gravitt and was married to Karen Morris Gravitt, who survives. Allen was wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a tobacco farmer and was known for his exceptional work ethic. Allen also worked in industrial maintenance for many years.  He served his country in the Army and  was a Vietnam veteran.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, Karen; Allen is survived by his children, Mark Gravitt (Andrea), Christina Gravitt, Michael Gravitt (Kimberly) and Tyler Gravitt (Kiara); grandchildren, Jesse Seamons (Megan Gigliotti), Blake Gravitt, Paige Gravitt, Jacob Gravitt, Jackson Talley, Tristan Gravitt, Lucas Gravitt and Cooper Gravitt; great grandchildren, Quin Crosby, Gunner Seamons and Abigail “Pretty Girl” Seamons. He is also survived by his siblings, Ira Gravitt, Wayne Gravitt (Gloria) and Donnie Gravitt, as well as his furry companion, Goldie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Mikkelson.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Gravitt farm located at 5067 Red Bank Rd., Virgilina, VA.
