Allen John Newcomb

CLOVER - Mr. Allen John Newcomb of Clover, VA died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the age of 67. Mr. Newcomb was born in Halifax Co., VA on October 10, 1947 to the late John James "Jim" Newcomb and the late Sarah Martin Newcomb and was married to Mary Hazelwood Newcomb. Allen was a loving husband for 43 years, a loving father and Papa.He was an active member of the Clover Church of God of Prophecy where he served on various committees and jobs. Mr. Newcomb was a former farmer and fork lift driver at O'Sullivan. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Hazelwood Newcomb of Clover, VA; five daughters, Frances Seamster and husband, George of Scottsburg, VA, Nancy Waddill and husband, David of South Boston, VA; Kathy Long and special friend, Dana Tyler of Clover, VA, Melinda Newcomb of South Boston, VA, and Stephanie Newcomb and special friend, Lucas Cornell of McKenney, VA; two brothers, Ronnie Newcomb and Dave Newcomb, both of South Boston, VA; two sisters, Joyce Martin of Scottsburg, VA and Donna Martin of Clover, VA; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John Newcomb, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Barbara Gravely, the Reverend Tom Warren, and the Reverend Courtney Coffer officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 9 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at the home, 2144 Mill Rd., Clover, VA.
