Allon Bruce Clarke

Allon Bruce Clarke, 84, of Charlottesville passed away December 13, 2018 at the Heritage Inn, Charlottesville, VA. Born June 1, 1934 in Clifton Forge, VA, he was the son of the late Samuel Younger Clarke, Sr. and Emma Pittard Clarke. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Younger Clarke, Jr. Bruce graduated from Clifton Forge High School in 1953. He alsoattended Woodrow Wilson Vocational Center in Fishersville, Va. He enjoyed CB radio and was a member of the Ham Radio Club. His call sign on CB was “Hound Dog.”He was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge 610 in Covington, VA. Bruce was the owner and operator of the Jefferson Street Market in Clifton Forge, VA. Bruce was a very kind and loving person with an infectious smile and he will be deeply missed. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Sandra Carruth Clarke, and a nephew, Samuel Younger Clarke, III and wife, Barbaraand their children, Cole and Casey. Hill & Wood Funeral Service is assisting with local arrangements in Charlottesville. A Memorial Service will be held at the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville, VA at 11AM Thursday, December 20, 2018.Interment will follow at Oakhurst Cemetery in Clarksville, VA.
