Alvah George "A.G." Wilson

Mr. Alvah George "A.G." Wilson of 3167 Virgilina Rd., Virgilina, VA died Monday, April 1, 2013 at the age of 73. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on May 27, 1939 to the late Asa Wright Wilson and the late Louise Long Lowery and was married to the late Edith Guthrie Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of Florence Ave. Baptist Church, a retired Weave Supervisor for Burlington Ind. and a proud farmer. He is survived by one son, Sammy G. Wilson & wife, Laura of Virgilina, VA; two daughters, Cheryl W. Deal of Virgilina, VA and Wendy W. Brooks & husband, Saunders of Danville, VA; one brother, Merritt Wilson; grandchildren, Tanya Young, Charles Irby, Josh Deal, Ashley Deal, Elizabeth Deal, Greg Wilson, Anna Brooks, Karington Brooks; great grandchildren, Kaylee Wilson and Keagan Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers, Douglas Wright Wilson, Jerry Wilson, and Curtis Wilson, and one sister, Christine Bates. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Stewart and Rev. Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Virgilina Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at his home.
