Andrew "A. T." Pittard, Jr.

Andrew Thompson Pittard, Jr., 86 of Buffalo Junction, Va. passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014. A. T. was born July 22, 1927 in Mecklenburg County. He is survived by wife, Margaret Chandler Pittard; daughter Margaret Lucille Pittard JonesLucy of Fuquay Varina, NC; son Andrew Thompson Pittard III Andy and wife Karen of Buffalo Junction; brother and sister-in-law W. G. and Pat Pittard of Buffalo Junction; sister-in-law Estelle Daniel of Clarksville; three grandchildren Sara Elizabeth Pittard, Chandler Edward Jones, and Kristen Anne Pittard. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Thompson Pittard, Sr. and Annie Laurie Johnson Pittard; two sisters Margaret Chewing and Christine Fee; and two brothers Robert Pittard and Johnnie Pittard. A. T. was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church, a graduate of Clarksville High School, and a World War II U. S. Navy veteran. He was a retired farmer and warehouseman and was also retired from the U. S. Postal Service. A. T. was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed being outside on his farm and with his family. Funeral services will be held at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Chapel in Clarksville on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Jane Lyon and Reverend Wally Kelly officiating.
