Ann Lilly Hollister

SOUTH BOSTON - Mrs. Ann Lilly Hollister of South Boston, wife of Robert H. “Bob” Hollister, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the age of 90. She was born in Marion, KY on August 9, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Carlon and Mildred Toller Lilly. Ann was a member of First Baptist Church in South Boston. She was very active in several civic organizations, and performed a lot of volunteer work in South Boston. She was very active with the hospital auxiliary in Sharon, PA and locally, with Halifax Regional Hospital. She also assisted several ladies in their later years. Ann loved travelling and had traveled in 48 states and several areas outside of the U.S. Mrs. Hollister is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bob; son, Keith Hollister and wife, Barbara Durham of Oviedo, FL (Keith retired from Lockheed Martin and Barbara teaches at the University); sisters, Rosa Cage of Santa Ana, CA, Joyce Spencer of Kihei, HI, Peggy Chandler of Georgetown, OH, and Donna Marcus and husband, Bill of Seneca, MO; and brothers, William Lilly and wife, Sandy of Galloway, OH and Dan Lilly of Concord, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Jane Corley and Joel Johnson. A private service will be held at a later date. The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 815 N. Main St., South Boston, VA 24592.
