Annie Allen Talley

Mrs. Annie Allen "Peggy" Wilborn Talley of Buffalo Junction passed away at her residence on June 30, 2010. Mrs. Talley was born in Halifax County, VA on January 31, 1937 to Sterling Lee and Lillian Talley Wilborn. She was a member of the graduating class of 1955 at Halifax County High School. Mrs. Talley was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk for 28 years; and a member of the Virgilina Women's Club. She worked at the South Boston Clinic but retired from Pulmonary Associates after 10 years of service. Prior to her death she was cared for by loving friends at her home. Annie Allen is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Bobby Ray Talley. She is also survived by 2 sons; Edwin R. Talley, and his wife Gwen, of Buffalo Junction, and Allen L. Talley, and his wife Wendy, of Hudson, Ohio. Her grandchildren, Robert Michael Talley, Zachary Allen Talley, and Kelly Elizabeth Talley; sister, Doris Foran of Cluster Springs; niece Donna Baker and her husband Matt also survive. She was preceded in death by her daughter Peggy Lee Talley and her sister, Gaynett Smith. Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverends Norman Talley, Scott Day, and Rodney Barwick officiating. Interment will follow in the Virgilina Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wclfh.com.
