Annie Virginia Davis Short

Mrs. Annie Virginia Davis Short of LP Bailey Memorial Hwy., Halifax, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the age of 92. She was born on December 29, 1929 to the late Johnny and Annie Laura Walker Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Franklin Short, Sr.

Annie loved flowers, cooking, and her entire family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Millstone and she loved her church and her faith. Annie retired from Burlington Industries as a textile worker.

She is survived by her children, Teresa Martin (Lee), Kelly Short, Audrey Short (Terri Roach), Jerry Short (Pam), Ann Spangler, Carolyn Riddle (Ray Tuck), Cathy Spangler (Frankie) and Phyllis Lindley (Russ); 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and daughter in law, Shirley Short. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank Short Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Bridget and Brian Short; 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Millstone. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1-2 PM at the church and other times at her home.
