Virgilina, VA - Aubrey Herbert Nunn, husband of Marjorie F. Nunn, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age of 87.He was born in Halifax County on November 4, 1929 to the late Etta Pool Nunn and Herbert Arthur Nunn.Mr. Nunn was a 1946 graduate of Virgilina High School and attended Virginia Commercial College.He was a previous president of H.A. Nunn Construction Company and a retired insurance agent with Kansas City Life.Aubrey was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and trustee.He was a charter member of the Midway Fire Department and Aarons Creek Ruritan Club.He also was a member of the Virgilina Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. In addition to his wife, Aubrey Nunn is survived by his daughter, Marcia Nunn of Raleigh, NC; son, Herbert C. Nunn of Virgilina; brothers, Bill Nunn of Clarksville, Lawrence Nunn and Glenn Nunn, both of Virgilina; and sisters, Carolyn N. Murphy of Virgilina and Linda N. Fryar of Mebane, NC.He was predeceased by a sister, Annette N. Hall and brother, Jimmy C. Nunn. Funeral services for Mr. Nunn will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Aarons Creek Baptist Church with Masonic committal rites to follow in the church cemetery.The Reverends Bryan Gough and Vance Midgett will be officiating the service.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be to Aarons Creek Baptist Church, the Midway Fire Department or the Aarons Creek Ruritan Club.Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wclfh.com.Arrangements are by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
