Avis Francisco Jones

SOUTH BOSTON - Avis Francisco Jones went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, February 2, 2017 at the age of 93. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on October 11, 1923 the daughter of the late Joseph King Francisco and the late Mary Marshall Jude Francisco. Avis was a member of First Baptist Church. She graduated from C.H. Friend High School and was retired from the Halifax Co. School Board. She also worked at Boston Drug Store and Reaves Drug Store. Survivors include a son, Robert Jones and wife, Dee of Troutville, VA;and two brothers, Alvin Francisco of South Boston, and Cecil Francisco and wife, Lib of Goldsboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anita Elliott and her husband, Floyd Elliott, Sr. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with the Reverend Joe Francisco and the Reverend Doctor Bob Balance officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon on Saturday from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
