Barbara Huff Fox

Barbara Huff Fox passed away Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Joseph C. Huff and Corinne Sneed Huff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Johnnie Bowden, Sr., Marshall Norwood, Jr. and Fred Fox, Sr. She was also predeceased by her brother J.C. Huff, Jr.; son Johnny Bowden, Jr.; granddaughter, Lisa Bowden; great grandson, Christopher Bowden; and son- in- law Monroe Pittard, Jr.

Mrs. Fox was a member of Averett Baptist Church and attended Gathering Place Church. She retired from Burlington Industries after 44 years. She was a Charter member of Clarksville Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, being a member since 1952. She served as Worthy Matron for 10 years and Grand Officer of Virginia from 1976 to 1977. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Mrs. Fox is survived by her daughters, Joan B. Pittard and Phyllis B. Slonaker (David); stepson Fred Fox, Jr. (Ann) and stepdaughter Anne Fox Scoggins; grandchildren John Bowden III, Joseph Bowden , Kara Bowden (Jess) and Holly Slonaker Schnell (Bob); and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special friends Roger and Libby Slagle, Herbert Ramsey, and Steve Whitlow.

Barbara's Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 2pm in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Chapel, with burial to follow in Oakhurst Cemetery.  Her family will receive friends and loved ones for Visitation one hour prior to the funeral.
