Barbara Louise Garner Griffin, a resident of Clarksville, VA, formerly of South Boston, VA, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on May 29th, 1934, in Mecklenburg County, VA, Barbara lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 72 years, Creston Griffin, with whom she built a life full of many memories. Their devotion to one another stood as a testament to their commitment. Barbara's legacy continues through her children, Wanda Griffin Elliott and John Griffin (Shelly), who were her pride and joy.

Her loving spirit will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Ricky Elliott (Janice), Andy Elliott, and Christopher Griffin (Julia), alongside her great-grandchildren, Aidyn Kelley, Rylee Elliott, and Caylee Griffin, who brought immense joy to her life. Barbara also leaves behind her brother, Larry Garner, and sister-in-law, Cookie Langford, with whom she shared countless cherished moments.

Barbara was predeceased by her loving parents, Andrew Garner and Clair Gregory Garner Toone, her brother Edward Garner, and her son-in-law, Richard Elliott, whose memories she held dear.

Barbara found fulfillment in her work until her retirement from Tultex, cultivating many enduring friendships along the way. She enriched the lives of those at Clarksville Health and Rehab with her warmth and kindness, particularly during spirited games of bingo. Barbara took great delight in bird watching, gardening, and nurturing her beautiful flowers. Her culinary skills, especially her homemade biscuits, were legendary within her family.

A graveside service to honor Barbara's life will be held at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Virgilina, VA, on Monday, April 21st, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Arrangements have been graciously entrusted to Watkins-Cooper-Lyon Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Clarksville Fire Department in Barbara's memory.

Barbara Louise Garner Griffin will be dearly missed as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
