Barbara Reaves Spencer

June 11, 1941 — January 30, 2025

Barbara Reaves Spencer, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30th, 2025, at the age of 83.  Born on June 11th, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Leslie W. Reaves and the late Virginia Armfield Reaves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hayze Spencer.

For 40 years, Barbara dedicated herself to her career at Burlington Industries and Tultex.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Lynn Spencer and Christy Marie Hatcher (Tommy); sister, Carolyn Tuck; brother, Eugene Ray Reaves; 4 grandsons, Drew (Leslie), Eric, Mason, and Colin; and 3 great grandchildren, Spencer, Christian, and William.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Joy Reaves and brothers, Leslie Dale Reaves and Wade Allan Reaves.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at First Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Those wishing to give memorials are asked to consider the Turbeville Volunteer Fire Department, 1002 Melon Road, South Boston, VA 24592.
