Barbara Cole Woltz

Barbara Cole Woltz of the Aaron's Creek community passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at the age of 86.  Born in Halifax County on March 13, 1937, she was the daughter of the late James Ernest Cole and the late Fannie Comer Cole.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Woltz.

Barbara was a member of Aaron's Creek Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and served on various church committees.  She was a pillar in the church and in her community.  Employed with Boston Lumber Company many years, she enjoyed her job.  Being a great cook, she always enjoyed having her family gathering for her weekly Sunday lunch.  She loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by sons, Stephen Woltz (Debbie) and David Woltz (Kathryn); daughter, Anne Nichols (Ted); grandchildren, Vince Nichols, Stephen Blake Woltz (Amanda), and Stormi Woltz Ryan (Patrick);  great grandson, Theodore James Woltz and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Causey Cole, Harry Cole, Estelle Gupton and Gladys Newcomb.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Aaron's Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Pruitt officiating.  Burial will follow in Aaron's Creek Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
