Barry Dean Lacks

CLOVER, VA. Mr. Barry Dean Lacks of Clover died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the age of 55. Barry was born in Halifax County on May 8, 1960 to Rosalea Martin Lacks and the late Watt Hailey Lacks and was married to Judy L. Lacks. Barry was a hardworking man and jack of all trades, who loved his family and friends and never met a stranger. Mr. Lacks is survived by his wife of 37 years, Judy L. Lacks of Clover; daughters, Joni L. Long of Clover and Hollie Lacks of Clover; grandchildren, Kayla, Kendall, Trevor, Kaitlyn, Landon and Leelon; his mother, Rosalea M. Lacks of Clover; sisters, Teresa Powell of Danville, Trudy L. Dalton and husband, Mark of Halifax, and Rhonda Elliott and husband, David of Alton; father & mother in law, Howard and Ethelyne Lacks of Clover; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Watt Hailey Lacks and sister, Roxie Lacks Harris. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Clover Church of God of Prophecy with the Reverend Barbara Gravely, the Reverend Tom Warren and Bruce Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Level Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Friday evening 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Joni L.
