Barton Patrick Poole

Mr. Barton Patrick Poole, 78, husband of Ruby Hughes Poole, died Sunday, January 23rd, 2005 in South Boston. Born and reared in Halifax County to the late James Link and Mary Holt Poole, he was a member of Hitesburg Baptist Church. Barton served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was retired from Burlington Industries with 47 years service, a lifetime member of VFW Post 8169 and American Legion Post # 43 of Chase City. Funeral services will be 3PM Wednesday at Hitesburg Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Merck officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In addition to his wife, Mr. Poole is survived by his sisters, Gladys Madden and Joyce Davis both of Greensboro, NC and his brother, John Poole of Roxboro, NC. He was predeceased by his son, Timothy Patrick Poole. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Tuesday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
