Beedie Whitt Jones

Mrs. Beedie Whitt Jones of 502 S. Main St., Chatham, VA died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the age of 88. She was born in Nelson, VA on August 8, 1924 to the late Nap Whitt and the late Mattie Gravitt Whitt and was married to Richard Jones. Mrs. Jones was a member of Downtown Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA. She was a hair stylist in Alexandria, VA and owned two Beauty Salons. Beedie and Richard invested in businesses and Real Estate in Northern Virginia before they retired to Chatham, Virginia and Fort Myers, Florida. She is survived by her husband, Richard S. Jones of Chatham, VA; her daughter, Wanda Carolyn Jones McCain of Alexandria, VA; her son, Richard S. Jones, Jr. of Vero Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Christopher S. Jones of Winchester, VA and Jessica E. McCain of Fairfax, VA; two great grandchildren, Nathan Blakely Castle and Lindsay Noel Castle; two brothers, H.A. Whitt of New Port Richey, FL and Raymond Whitt of Riverside, CA; one sister, Shirley Jean Whitt Connor of South Boston, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Hester Whitt Reagan, Goldie Whitt Lowery, Annie Bob Whitt, Elsie Whitt, Louise Whitt, William Whitt, and Emerson Whitt. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 7:00 until 8:00 PM.
