Bernice Weldon Stone

SOUTH BOSTON Mr. Bernice Weldon Stone, Sr of South Boston passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born in Person County, NC on March 8, 1937 to the late William Arch Stone and the late Eva Shelton Stone. He was married to his wife Joyce for 64 years. Bernice was retired with 39 years of employment from Burlington Industries in the boiler room. He loved horses and went ona lot of trail rides. He loved helping people, especially when it came to horses. He also had hunting dogs and loved hunting. In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by sons, B.W. Stone, Jr and Robert Neal Stone; daughter, Joanne Elliott; grandchildren, Jock Stone, Mitch Elliott, Chris Elliott, and Erica Lynn Stone; several great grandchildren; brothers, John Stone and George Stone; sisters, Pat Carver, Ada and Ida. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Bob Stone, Sonny Stone, Jack Stone and Charlie Stone. Serviceswill be held at a later date.
