Bessie Doris Conner

Mrs. Bessie Doris Conner of Red Oak passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her husband of 46 years and her family on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the age of 77. She was born in Halifax Co. on November 20, 1933 to the late Shirley and Ruby Layne Hall and was married to Alvin Bryant Conner. Mrs. Conner was a homemaker and formerly attended South Boston Church of God. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Donny Conner of Warrenton, NC, Darin Conner of Red Oak, and Dean Conner of Nathalie; two daughters, Tina Morgan of Red Oak and Tammy Hensley of Drakes Branch; two sisters, Shirley Marguerite Vaughan and Ruby Diane Conner; two aunts, Evelyn Layne Hall and Janie Covington; 17 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeaux Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, December 10 from 6 PM until 9 PM and at other times at the home. Those wishing to make memorials can make donations to the family.
