Betsy Sizemore Mills

CLARKSVILLE, VA – Mrs. Betsy Sizemore Mills, widow of George Ander Mills, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the age of 86. Born in Mecklenburg County, VA on September 9, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Thornton L. Sizemore and the late Jennie Garrett Sizemore. A graduate of Stovall High School, Betsy was a billing department clerk at Burlington Industries from 1951 until her retirement in 1997 and was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church. Mrs. Mills is survived by nieces, Janet S. Powell of Buffalo Junction, Lynn Claiborne of Bullock, NC, Jane Greathouse of Newport News, Shelby Talbott of South Boston, Deborah Newton of Clarksville, Allyson Bartley of Danville, Jamie Reynolds of Raleigh, NC, Sarah Mayo of Ft. Myers, FL, and Daisy Hall; and nephews, David Sizemore of Rougemont, NC and Kent Powell of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Agnes S. Powell, and brothers, Douglas Sizemore, Gilbert Sizemore, Thornton Allen Sizemore, and John Bentley Sizemore. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Greg Randall officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
