Betty Haskins Brown

Mrs. Betty Haskins Brown, 76, widow of Lynwood Clifton Mangum and James Howard Brown died December 5, 2004 in Richmond. Born and reared in Henderson, NC to the late Walter Sam and Mamie Robards Hawkins, Betty graduated from Henderson High School with the class of 1946. Retiring after 28 years with Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg as Director of Accounting, she moved to Boydton in 1982. Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katharine and Kenneth Allen of Clearwater, FL; sister, Peggy Haskins Hicks of Oxford, NC; and brother, Philip Haskins of Clarksville. One grandchild and four great-grandchildren also survive her. The family will receive friends Thursday 7-8:30 PM at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private.
