Betty Lee Bedsworth Herman

Richmond, VA - Mrs. Betty Lee Bedsworth Herman, 86, died on Friday, December 25, 2015.She was born in Baltimore, MD on January 21, 1929 to the late Thomas Hardesty and Madeline Crum Bedsworth. Mrs. Herman was the widow of John Walter Herman, whom she married on August 15, 1953. Betty was a member of Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church. She graduated from Towson University with a B.S. in education. Betty taught first and second grades in elementary school for 10 years in Baltimore. Mrs. Herman is survived by two sons, John Herman, Jr. and Paul Herman and wife, Christine; two daughters, Nancy Carlisle and husband, Chip and Barbara Fortner and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Cameron, Patrick, Madeline, and Mitchell and wife, Samantha; and one great grandchild, Grayson. Betty is predeceased by her husband and parents.The committal service will be held at 10 A.M., Monday December 28 at Oakhurst Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 28 at Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church, Clarksville, VA with the Reverend John Bright officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M.
