Betty Jean Burton Tuck

BUFFALO JUNCTION, VA. Mrs. Betty Jean Burton Tuck of Buffalo Junction, VA. passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015.She was born November 12, 1939 in Scottsburg, VA. to the late Jesse Burton and the late Marjorie Jones Burton Smithson. Betty Jean was a graduate of Baker High School in Columbus, GA. She was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church and a member of The Eastern Star Chapter 145. She worked for a few years at Hite’s Department Store and later as an office administrator with Chappell Insurance Agency. Betty Jean volunteered in mission work in Louisiana and through “In As Much” with Clarksville Baptist Church. Mrs. Tuck is survived by her husband, Melvin LeRoy Tuck; a daughter, Cheryl Hand Dillard and husband Randy of Wake Forest, NC; 3 sons, Jeffrey Dean Hand of Chatham, Va.; Kevin Avery Hand of Cary, NC; and Dale Alan Tuck and wife Heather of Buffalo Junction, VA.; a brother, Edgar Burton of Douglas, GA; 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kerry Burton Hand. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10 AM at Clarksville Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Greg Randall officiating.The family will receive friends at the residence, 2999 Cow Road, Buffalo Junction, VA.
