Betty Jo Walker Halstead

Clarksville, VA - Betty Jo Walker Halstead, widow of Warren Franklyn Halstead, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the age of 85. She was born in Belle, West Virginia on May 28, 1932 to the late Gertrude Gwinn Walker and the late Shirley Walker. Mrs. Halstead was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Jo Halstead and Kailo Schlegel of Palmyra, VA; stepchildren, Heather Randall, Warren Halstead II and Keith Halstead as well as grandchildren, Kara Jo Schlegel and Lara Fern Schlegel.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Halstead was predeceased by her twelve siblings. The family of Betty Jo Halstead will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1 at Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church, 219 5th Street, Clarksville, VA.The funeral service, officiated by Reverend John Bright, will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a reception following the service in the fellowship hall.Burial at Oakhurst Cemetery will be held after the reception.
