Clarksville, VA - Mrs. Betty Atkins Nunn, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of Clarksville, VA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. A service for Mrs. Nunn is to be conducted at 1:00PM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Clarksville Baptist Church. A native of Virgilina, VA who was reared there, she was a graduate of Oak Hill High School.Mrs. Nunn, was a retired business owner in Clarksville, VA after operating Betty Nunn Ladies Apparel. Prior to her business in apparel, Mrs. Nunn utilized her artistic talents in proprietoring Clarksville Florist. She was an active member of Clarksville Baptist Church where she was Co-Chairman of the Music Committee, past Chairman of the Flower Committee, Choir member and pianist. Mrs. Nunn had a passion for creativity in developing the Town of Clarksville and is responsible for many enhancements to the town over the past years.She was Chairman of the Retail Merchants Association and worked diligently with two others to develop what is now known as Lakefest in Clarksville, She was fond of gardening, creating beautiful and unique arrangements, antiques, and music.Mrs. Nunn was especially fond of spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Nunn is survived by her husband, William Stephen Nunn, three sons, Stephen Atkins Nunn (Kelly) of Rockville, IN, Timothy Brann Nunn (Sara) of Midlothian, VA, Mark William Nunn (Libby) of Virgilina, VA, five grandchildren, Sara Catherine Marshall (James), Leah Nunn McGowan (Andrew), Danielle Atkins Nunn, William Vaughan Nunn, Payne Atkins Nunn, and two great-grandchildren, Emily Helen McGowan and Harrison Timothy McGowan. The family suggests memorial contributions be designated to the Clarksville Baptist Church Organ Fund.
