Beverley Craige Skipwith

Mr. Beverley Craige Skipwith, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 9, 2015.Mr. Skipwith was born July 15, 1929.He was the son of the the late Austin Ledyard Skipwith and Mary Feilds Skipwith.On December 17, 1948, Beverley married his bride of sixty-six years, Shannon Forlines Skipwith.For forty-nine years he worked for Burlington Industries in the dry finish department as the quality supervisor.After retiring he continued to carry out his passion for gardening.Mr. Skipwith is survived by his wife, his two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Larry Holloway of Wake Forest, NC and Susan Glasscock and Allen Parker of Clarksville and his son and daughter-in-law, Beverley Craige Jr. and Tammy Skipwith of Meherrin, VA.He is also survived by his four grandchildren, L D Holloway, Jr., Amanda Dalton, Richard Skipwith, Danielle Holloway and his two great grandchildren Maddox Holloway and Kendall Holloway.Mr. Skipwith’s family will receive friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church on April 11th.Officiating will be The Reverend Susan Grimm.Entombment will follow at the Eternity Mausoleum in Oakhurst Cemetery, Clarksville.Contributions may be made to the Prestwould Foundation or St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.The family of Beverley Skipwith is being cared for by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
