Billy James Bowes

ALTON, VA Mr. Billy James Bowes, Sr. of Alton, VA died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the age of 72. He was born on May 1, 1942 in Person Co., NC to the late Willie Junious Bowes and the late Lessie Bowes. Mr. Bowes was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a farmer. heavy equipment operator, and truck driver. He was a member of Alton Baptist Church. Mr. Bowes is survived by his wife, DeLayne Zimmerman Bowes of Alton, VA; three sons, Ronald Stuart Bowes of South Boston, VA, David Allen Bowes and wife, Donna of Semora, NC, and Timothy Will Bowes and wife, Care of Hurdle Mills, NC; one sister, Linda Miller of North Chesterfield, VA; one brother, Ray Bowes of Annadale, VA; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Billy James Bowes, Jr. A private memorial service will be held. The family will receive friends at the home, 2012 Harmony Rd., Alton, VA.
