Billy Allen Toon

Mr. Billy Allen Toon of The Woodview, South Boston, VA, formerly of Ridge Rd., Danville, VA died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the age of 82. He was born January 1, 1929 to the late Charlie Otis Toon and the late Vivian Hyde Toon, and was married to Theresa Mable Herndon Toon. Mr. Toon was a retired insurance salesman with Settlers Life Insurance Co. and was also a retired minister, and he was a member of Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church, Dry Fork, VA. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Darlene VanHooser of Dry Fork, VA, Vivian McDowell of Inman, SC and Delores "Dee" Smith and her husband, Mike of Cluster Springs, VA; one son, Allen Toon of Chesnee, SC; one sister, Sally Belcher of Tulsa, OK; one brother, Leon Toon of Newport News, VA; six grandchildren, Lindsey McDowell of Lakeland , FL, Travis Clay of South Boston, VA, Elena Van Hooser of Danville, VA, Kristin McDowell Robertson of Louisville, KY, Lauren Toon of Chesnee, SC, and Jessica Toon of Chesnee, SC; two step grandchildren, Stephen Smith and Trevor Smith both of South Boston, VA; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Clay and Rylan Robertson. A memorial service for Mr. Toon will be held at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 16300 Mt. Cross Rd., Dry Fork, VA 24549.
