Bobby Ray Talley

Bobby Ray Talley, 79, widower of Annie Allen Talley, passed away Sunday, August 03, 2014 at his home. Bobby Ray was born January 15, 1935 in Granville County, NC to the late Raymond and Raymell Yancey Talley. A graduate of Oak Hill High School, Bobby then served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Talbott & Marks, English, Bishop & Settle and and finished his career at Virginia Carolina Construction as Superintendent of Road Construction. He was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and served as a Deacon. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverends Norman Talley and Joey Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Virgilina Cemetery. Mr. Talley is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin R. and Gwen Talley of Buffalo Junction, and Allen L. and Wendy Talley of Hudson, Ohio, and his grandchildren, Robert Michael Talley, Zachary Allen Talley, and Kelly Elizabeth Talley. His sisters-in-law Patricia Talley, Caroline Talley and Doris Foran Tom also survive. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Lea Talley and his brothers, Cecil Gray Talley, Sr. and Tommy Raymond Talley. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 Monday at the funeral home.
