Bobby Wade Thomas, 74, was born January 22, 1951 in Granville County to Bob and Hazel Thomas. He is survived by the love of his life, Wanda Thomas, united in marriage for 52 years. He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He was a mechanic by trade. Wade had a love for singing Karaoke, never met a stranger, loved auto racing, baseball (if Zack was playing), a good Hallmark movie, and Mountain Dew. In addition to his wife, who was his dedicated caregiver, he is survived by his daughter, Wendy "Michelle" Keeton (T.J., the son he never had); grandson, Zachary Keeton (Natalie), anyone who knew him knew Zack was the apple of his eye; sister, Barbara Moore; sister-in-law, Robin Wolford (Terry); several nieces and nephews; and fur babies, Snowball and Camo. He was predeceased by his parents, a baby brother, his mother-in-law, "Tuny" Rice and father-in-law, William Rice. Services will be held on Monday, March 17 at 3:00 PM at Union Christian Church in Virgilina, VA with Reverend Norman Talley officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. Wade was a tell it like it is, don't hold back kind of man. Many thought he was a Kenny Rogers look alike. If you knew him, you may have been greeted by "Hey Darling" at least once or twice. The family would like to thank Duke Hospice, especially his nurse, Hannah, for being so good to him. Wade fought for many years and ultimately won his fight. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you can make a donation to your local church or fire department.
