Brenda Bowen Adams

Brenda Bowen Adams of Buffalo Junction, VA, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the age of 70. Born in Clarksville, VA, on April 11, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Randolph Bowen, Sr., and the late Mary Phillips Bowen, and was married to Dennis Adams, who survives. Brenda was a genuine, sweet, kind Christian woman. She was the true example of a mama, grandmother, wife, daughter, and sister. She loved her family and loved the Lord. She was a true fighter and a faithful servant.

In addition to her husband of 48 years, Brenda is survived by her children, Scottie Adams (Mandi) of Virginia Beach, Neil Adams of Buffalo Junction and Christy Bowen (Chad) of Virgilina; grandchildren, Lindsey, Promise, Peyton, Allie and Pierce and siblings, Betty Bowen, Wallace Bowen, Jr. (Cathy) all of Buffalo Junction, Nancy Rice (Bobby) of Virgilina and Gary Bowen of Bullock, NC. She is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews, Melanie Adams of Hampton, VA, C.W. Rice and Jason Adams, both of Richmond, VA. Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Bowen.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in the Bowen Family Cemetery with the Reverend Ian Rigney officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8:00 P.M. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home and all other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, Brenda's family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, or Sentara Hospice.
