ALTON, VA Mr. Bryant Davis “Bonnie” Throckmorton of Alton, VA passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at the age of 83.Born in Halifax County on September 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Clyde Warren Throckmorton and the late Susie Bryant Langford Throckmorton. Bonnie owned and operated Bonnie’s American Service Station. He farmed and loved being a cowboy. He was a member of Scottsburg Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving life partner, Becky Wilson; daughter, Betty T. Duffer; son, Carl W. Throckmorton and wife, Amy of Scottsburg; step children, Cindy W. Williams and husband, Randy, Vicki W. Irby and husband, Dan, and Curtis R. Wilson,II and wife Kim; brother, Harrison Throckmorton; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Other than his parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by a brother, Garnett Throckmorton, a sister, Louise Blanks and grandson, Joshua Williams. Funeral Services for Bonnie Throckmorton will be Wednesday, September 26 at 3:00 PM at Scottsburg Baptist Church with Reverend Norman Talley and Reverend Kermit Evans officiating.Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Scottsburg. The family will receive friends at Scottsburg Baptist Church on Wednesday from 1:00-2:30 PM and other times at the home, 1140 Paradise Road, Alton, VA.
