Byron Keith Puryear

Byron Keith Puryear of Virgilina, Virginia passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the age of 55.  Born in Roxboro, NC, on January 16, 1968, he was the son of Thomas Franklin Puryear Jr. and the late Clara Lowery Puryear. He is survived by his wife, Melanie Hudson Puryear.

Byron was a member of High View Baptist Church in Roxboro.  He enjoyed bass fishing and was a really good carpenter, having worked at Hand Crafted homes & Fleetwood for many years.
He was employed as the code enforcer for Person County, NC.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and son.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie; son, Ian Thomas Puryear; his father, Thomas Franklin Puryear Jr; sister, Delores Puryear Honeycutt (Donald Wayne); nephew, Derek Honeycutt (Becca), niece, Kelly Honeycutt Murray (Greg); great nieces & nephew, Collin Shotwell, Emma Honeycutt and Olivia Honeycutt.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara; grandparents, Edith Tuck Lowery & Clement Hayes Lowery Sr, Annie O'Geary and Thomas Franklin Puryear Sr.

A Celebration of Life for Byron will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 7, 203 at High View Baptist Church with Reverend Avery Dalton and Reverend Doug Ballou.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 6 PM - 8 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
