Carl Wesley Elliott

SOUTH BOSTON,VA Mr. CarlWesley Elliott, Jr. went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the age of 90.He was born in Halifax Co. on August 5, 1926 to the late Karl Wesley Elliott, Sr. and the late Rosa Mae Glasscock and was married to the late Edna Arneida Ladd Elliott. Carl was a member of North Fork Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and helped with Vacation Bible School.He retired from Burlington Industries after 42 years of service and volunteered at Halifax Regional Hospital from 1995-2003.His hobbies included horses, go cart racing, dogs and bluegrass music. Survivors include daughters, Shelby E. Newton(Charles) of Chase City, Va. and Linda E. Oliver(Larry) of Buffalo Junction, Va.; a son, Wendell W. Elliott of Virgilina, Va.; grandchildren, Robert Daniel Elliott(Socheat) of Chantilly, Va., Dr. Kelly Toler(Michael) of Holly Springs, NC, and Brian E. Newton(Sara) of Midlothian, Va.; great grandchildren, Isabella Elliott, Griffin Elliott, Owen Toler, Shipley Graham Newton andCabell Elliott Newton; and a sister, Mandy Elliott Kennedy of Richmond, Va. In addition to his parents and his wife, Carl was predeceased by a son, Carl Wesley Elliott, III and siblings, Nannie E. Cliborne and Lewis J. Elliott. Funeral services for Mr. Elliott will be Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 2:00 PMat Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.The family will receive friends only at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 10 from 1:00-2:00PM prior to the service.
