South Boston, VA. Mr. Carl Wesley Elliott, III of Virgilina, VA died on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the age of 58. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on May 8, 1956 to Carl Wesley Elliott, Jr. and the late Arneida Ladd Elliott. Mr. Elliott was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a was a supervisor at Clover Yarns. He was a member of North Fork Baptist Church, a past member of the Virgilina Fire Department, and served as IMC president. Mr. Elliott enjoyed NASCAR racing, especially the Daytona 500. Survivors include a son, Robert Daniel Elliott and wife, Socheat; sisters, Linda E. Oliver and husband, Larry and Shelby E. Newton and husband, Charles; brother, Wendell W. Elliott; grandchildren, Isabella D. Elliott and Griffin Elliott; niece, Kelly Newton Toler and husband, Michael; nephew, Brian Newton and wife, Sara; great nephew, Owen N. Toler; beloved long time girlfriend, Brenda Clay; her daughters, Cynthia Clayton, Juanita Clay, and Tanya Dudley; her grandsons, Tyler Clay and Christopher Doss; her granddaughters, Ashley Tucker, Ciera Koral, Karissa Doss, and MaKayley Reed; her step grandchildren, Zach Dudley and Kiley Clay; and her great grandchildren, Bradley Clay and Annelise Tucker. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Doctor Mike Haskett officiating. Burial will follow in Virgilina Cemetery.
