Carol Black-Harrell, age 75, of Clarksville, Virginia passed away peacefully, at her home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.Carol was born November 3, 1946 on a farm in Churubusco, New York. Carol received her B.S. in Sociology from Longwood University in 1991 and worked for the Virginia Department of Corrections as an Adult Probation Parole Officer.After her retirement, Carol enjoyed volunteering for the SPCA, gardening, taking care of her pets, spending time with her many friends and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. She was also an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Clarksville. Carol was preceded in death by her mother (Mary Brown), her father (John Brown), her brother (Barry Brown), her husbands (Randall Black and Lamar Harrell) and her stepson (Eric Black). Carol is survived by her sister (Virgina McCauley), her stepdaughters (Kathy Harrell and Christi Snead) and stepsons (Robert Harrell, Adam Harrell, Randy Black and Tim Black). Carol is also mourned by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends and the Clarksville community at large. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 6, 2021 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00pm where there will be a prayer of the rosary.A funeral mass will be held in her honor on Friday, January 7th at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church at 9:30am.
