Carole Jean Scappino

On Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:30 pm, Carole Jean Scappino of Clarksville, passed away at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.On November 4, 1944, Carole was born in Manville, NJ to the late Stephen Toth and Eugenia Zwerko Toth.She was a fiercely proud mother of four children, who loved to quilt, garden, knit, cook and create folk paintings.Mrs. Scappino is survived by her husband, Mario C. Scappino, her daughter and son-in-law, Lori Ann Scappino and Randall Lanou of Creedmor, NC, her three sons and daughter-in-law, Mario C. Jr. and Siobhan Scappino of Raleigh, NC, Michael S. Scappino and Christopher J. Scappino, both of Somerset, NJ.She is also survived by her grandchildren, Patrick and Elizabeth Scappino of Raleigh, NC.The family will receive visitors at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Friday, April 3rd from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm.The funeral service will take place at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:00 AM.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the American Cancer Society.
