Carolyn Jean Lewis

Carolyn Jean Lewis (October 23, 1938 – May 4, 2024) Born in Bradford PA to Jacob Raszman and Marjorie Dennis.

She is survived by her husband, Robert N. Lewis of Halifax VA, 5 sons, Thomas Trask and his wife Karin of Washington DC, Marty Lewis and his wife Debbie of Chase City VA, Robert Trask and his wife Carolyn of Gilbert AZ, Greg Lewis and his wife Debbie of Red Oak VA, Daniel Trask of Chase City VA, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She studied nursing and x-ray techniques at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland Ohio. She later worked as a bookkeeper and financial analyst. Carolyn was a proud Air Force spouse for 31 years and 14 military moves across the US, Guam, and Canada. After the Air Force, she and her husband settled in Halifax VA in their retirement home where they spent 33 years before moving to Commonwealth Senior Living in South Boston last summer.  Carolyn loved road trips and hosting BBQs and holiday dinners for her family.

The family will host a small private celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to support military families at Operation Homefront.
