Catherine Dunn Gosney

Mrs. Catherine Dunn Gosney, age 83, of 5228 Bill Tuck Hwy, South Boston, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at her home. Born October 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Richard Dunn, Sr. And Eloise Thomas Dunn and was the widow of Irvin Alvis Gosney. She was a homemaker, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Surviving are 2 sons, Wallace B. Gosney and wife Faye of Alton and Wesley Ray Gosney of South Boston; a daughter, Linda Lloyd and husband Allen of South Boston; 1 brother, Lloyd Dunn of South Boston; 3 sisters, Myra Shelton of Stoneville, NC, Maggie Ann Overton of Halifax, and Louise Dunn of South Boston; 5 Grandchildren, Michael Gosney, Cindy Gosney Fisher, Kevin Gosney, Kristin Gosney and Jason Lloyd; and by 6 Great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by sons, Wayland Lloyd Gosney and Willard Gosney, Granddaughter, Tammy Seate; Great grandchild, Thomas Seate, III; brothers, Ollie Dunn, Rommie Dunn and Richard Dunn, Jr.; and sister, Margaret Dunn. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 PM in Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Aarons Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 7 until 8:30 and at other times at her home.
