Catherine Redd Williamson

Mrs. Catherine Redd Williamson, 71, widow of James Kirbey Williamson, died Monday, October 4, 2004 at Halifax Regional Hospital. Daughter of the late William Wesley and Annie Mae Parker Redd, Catherine was born September 5, 1933 and reared in Nelson. She graduated with the class of 1950 from Clarksville High School and was a member of Nelson Baptist Church. She retired from Burlington Industries with 26 years service. Funeral services will be 2PM Wednesday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with Reverend Rodney Barwick officiating. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Catherine is survived by four daughters and their spouses, Winnie W. and James Smith, Rita W. Ramsey, Shirley W. and Mike Overbey all of Nelson, and Connie W. and Eddie Martin of Roxboro, NC; sister, Anne Irby of South Boston; brothers, Woodrow Redd of Kinston, NC., Bradhser Redd of Clarksville, James Redd of Richmond, and Lee Redd of Nelson. Six grandchildren, Kimberly Arhtur, Michael and Jessi Overbey, Jessica Gregory, and Christina Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Cody, Justin, and Dillon Arthur, and Kelsie Gregory. She was predeceased by brother, William Davis Redd and great-granddaughter, Taylor Marie Brown. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Tuesday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
