Cathryn Green Thomas

Cathryn Green Thomas, of South Boston, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the age of 93.  Born in Halifax County on September 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Anthony Green and Belle McClure Green.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Berkley Thomas.

She is survived by her children, Roy Anthony "Tony" Thomas and Sharon Thomas Long (David); grandchildren, Shane Thomas (Kelly), Brock Thomas, Brandon Howerton (Karen), Nathan Thomas, Brent Long (Natalie), Miles Thomas (Hillary), Tyler Long and Beth T. Slabach (Corbin); 9 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Carol Thomas; son-in-law, Frank Howerton; special niece, Phyllis Lowery and her sister-in-law, Geneva Snow.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Thomas, a daughter, Rebecca Howerton, her brothers, Clarence and F.A. Green, and a sister, Vivian Lowery.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Daniel Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
